Introduction to M2M
M2M is the automated communication between remote
machines and the central management application. It provides realtime
monitoring and control without the need for human intervention.
M2M stands for machine-to-machine, mobile-to-machine, and man-to-machine
communication.
Description and features with the Plasus
Technologies Plano system:
|
User Interface / Devices
The Plano system allows a user to interact with
the system using multiple interfaces. The user interface is adapted
to each customers specifications without changing the underlying
service-platform. User interfaces include Internet, Email, SMS,
MMS and Telephone. |
Networks
The system supports multiple networks for communication.
Network communication protocol is chosen based on the type and amount
of data that needs to be transmitted, and the protocol supported
in the remote units. User interface protocols are chosen based on
the customers needs. |
Remote Unit Interface
The customers remote units can be any hardware
with built in communication abillities. Typical units are hardware
for controlling electronic or mechanical equipment. Plasus is focusing
on solutions for energy control and alarm handling, but other applications
can easily be integrated. The data between the remote unit and Plano
Server are exchanged through different communication protocols.
The system supports the following protocols: TCP/IP, XMPP, FTP,
HTTP,SMTP, XML, SMS, MMS and DTMF. |
Plano Server with Admin Interface
The Plano Server is the engine of the M2M system.
The server handles all traffic to and from the users, and communicates
with the customers' remote units. The system is based on modules,
making implementation of user specific applications fast and simple.
The system is equipped with a complete administration
interface including routines for Customer Services, Handling of
Orders, Billing and System Monitoring services. |
